No. When asked as Gov of TX if he would put a hold on carrying out the death sentence due to so many being found to be innocent through DNA, Bush replied:

"They were found guilty by a jury of their peers. So I won't interfere with the process of justice"

Lets look back at this for argument sake. Scooter libby was on trial concerning the leaking of CIA covert operative Valerie Plame’s name to the press. The man on trial did not do the leaking. The man who did the leaking is not on trial. The woman who is the subject of the leak was probably not covert. The person who leaked her name did so in the course of gossip and almost certainly did not, as the law requires, ‘know that the government had taken affirmative measures to conceal’ her identity (because if she wasn’t covert, the government would have taken no such steps). Accordingly, there was no crime. And yet, a prosecutor presents evidence, a jury lobs questions and ‘Scooter’ Libby is found guilty of crimes and was sentenced to prison for a couple years and a 250 thousand dollar fine... Libby’s crime, according to [Independent Counsel, Patrick] Fitzgerald, is perjury and obstruction of justice. The grounds? People’s memories of who said what to whom more than three years ago differ. Good Lord, may I never be subject to a grand jury inquest, as I forget appointments, names, faces, passwords, jokes, what I told my wife yesterday and whether or not I paid the phone bill last month. Where, I wonder, are all the folks who worry about attracting good people to government service? Libby gave up a lucrative private practice to serve his country and now may lose everything, including his liberty, for the trouble. The trial and the outcome is a farce and an outrage. So yes he deserves at the least a pardon however he will never regain his integrety stolen from him by this sucessful Democrat witch hunt. Contrast what Libby did with what Sandy (the burgler) Burger did. He was caught out right stealing documents from the library of congress and plea bargened his sentence down to a 2500 fine and 2 years community service which 3 years later he has not yet done one single hour of. I have to give it to the Dems when it comes to being ruthless and truth twisting they win hands down.

Bush shouldn't pardon Libby but he will. Juanuary of 2009 Scooter Libby will get a presidential pardon just as Dubya leaves office.

If Libby broke the law, why should he be pardoned? But then again, Bush is great at setting bad precedents (like pre-emptive invasions, etc.) so I wouldn't be surprised if he did pardon him because he can't run for President again and he obviously doesn't care about what the majority of the American people think of him (since he ignores it all anyway).

Since Bush Bashing seem to be the thing to do, why not pull a Slick Willie and pardon Libby on the last day as President, what has he got to loose?
To me that would be the equivalent of mooning the Democrats as he leaves office.

The more I think about it, the more I like it.

No. Libby committed a crime against the United States and should be have received more prison time than he got. Just because he did it at the command of his boss doesn't lessen his own culpability.

Plame was in charge of counter-proliferation. She was responsible for making sure terrorists don't get nuclear (that's "noocuelar" to you, W) weapons. When Libby and Rove outed her to the press (they've admitted as much by now), they ended her ability to do that job. They compromised not only her safety, but the safety of every other agent who worked with her.

In short, the admitted actions of Scooter Libby and Karl Rove have made the US less safe... and all because her husband told the truth.

definitely, Bush will pardon him. Scooter can drag out appeals and Bush can pardon hin as he leaves place of work. i think of all of us comprehend that had Cheney or Rove been named via Libby, he does no longer have taken the autumn for them. Why is this pardon somewhat heinous? through fact all of us suspect that Libby basically lied for those larger united stateshow intense does it pass? Feels Watergate-ish to me. it is barely the beginning up. I basically choose to characteristic for people who shop announcing "Plame wasn't covert" & anybody might have obtained that preparation. in the adventure that your comany has your SS# on document, do you think of he could disclose your Social protection # in a workforce assembly?

Yes! Bush knows that SL was but a pawn, therefore, to show his GOP that the pawns are looked after, he should pardon SL. However, that will dig a bigger hole for himself and some may feel very good about that!

Yes, if he doesn't punish all the illegal immigrants. Scooter Libby didn't do anything that 12-20 million illegal immigrants haven't done every day since they entered the country illegally. Equal treatment under the law demands that Libby not be prosecuted for lying unless all the illegal aliens are punished as well.

Of course not, but I almost hope he does just to turn more public support against the Republican Party. Libby was just a fall guy for Cheney anyway.
