First, congrats!

Second, there are so many things that come along with pregnancy - it's like a roller coaster all the way through. You start off excited at the fact that your pregnant. Then you move on to the "heartbeat" doctors appointment. Next thing you know it will be ultra-sound time and figuring out if you really want to know the sex of your baby or not. Then comes the movement, the maternity clothes, back aches, sleepless nights, watching your belly jump around, and then worrying about if your going to make it to the hospital in time. Whheeew!

It's totally normal to be scared - I certainly was. I don't think you need to quit your job, unless you do something that puts you in harms way everyday. Cravings can be so yummy and also give you a big tummy ache - if you eat too much of the yummy stuff. You will probably start feeling the baby moving at about 18-22 weeks - feels like bubbles popping at first.

When I was pregnant, I found this website www.babycenter.com and totally fell in love with it - I still have my account and my kids are pre-schoolers : ) It will show you pictures of what the baby looks like at different stages of your pregnancy. You will get weekly emails that tell you about development, what you should be eating, feeling, doing, etc.

Once again, Congrats and good luck!!

Well, you should expect to be tired, and not all women get morning sickness but you might. I started feeling my baby move at about 17 weeks I think. I don't know if all women get hormonal, but I have. I find myself crying at commercials for no reason. To me, when I get cravings I just all of sudden think about a certain food that I have to have right then. Quitting your job is up to you. Can you afford to quit? If not, I would work as long as possible. It is perfectly normal to be scared. In fact I would think something was wrong with you if you weren't. But, don't worry too much and stress yourself out because everything will be fine. You shouldn't do alot of baby shopping until you find out what you're having and have a baby shower because other people will get you lots of stuff.
Congratulations and good luck.

I don't know what to tell you to expect except lots of cooing and stupid questions from friends and family. Movement starts between fifteen and twenty weeks. YES, they are all hormonal, its part of pregnancy. You'll know cravings when you have them. Don't quit your job, you are not helpless, pregnancy is not a disease, and you will be bored to death. If you decide to quit when the baby is born, that is up to you. No comment on scared, I'm a father of three but thats each womans call. Shop now and be on the lookout for deals. For the record, two of our three kids outgrew 0-3 month clothes within a month so don't pile up too many of those. Other considerations? Not all diapers are disposable, Tiny Tush makes excellent ( and easy to use) cloth diapers. If you breastfeed, GREAT, if not, that's great too, but feed you baby. Our kids needed formula as a supplement and they all liked the VentAire bottles. They are fatter than normal bottle but easier for them to grab. Get a good, sturdy, and BIG diaper bag that is gender neutral. Well, that's up to you but I think that a diaper bag that matches the baby is kinda, well, overboard... Anyways, good luck and congrats, it is like nothing else in the world and absolutely wonderful!!!

*Expect your life to change completely
*You wont feel the baby move until around 5-6 mos
*Yeah, i'd say most prego women are hormonal.
*Cravings aren't true to everyone. You may find you can't eat something you may've loved all your life, cuz the smell or sight of it will make you sick (mine was chicken breast). Then, you may just really want to eat a particular food often (mine were Pizza Hut Breadstix)
*Don't quit your job, work until you can no longer either by how u feel or what your doctor says. Go on Mat. Leave and go back when you're ready. You may find you need that time, or you may find that you want to be a stay at home mom.
*Of course it's nomral to be scared, but, don't worry yourslef sick!!
*Don't start shopping or prepping anything until after about 12+ weeks, when the odds of something happens drop dramatically.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

first of all congratulation, now since this is your first you might feel the baby around 4 or 5 months through the pregnancy.
every pregnancy is different so, yes all women hormonal when pregnant. if you feel tired a lot and can't stand for a long time ask your supervisor for leave of absent then you will stll have your job after your recovery. yes it is normal to be scared but don't worry everything is going to be fine.. so far as shopping as soon as you find out the sex of the baby you can start shopping or just save as much as you can. Again CONGRATULATION

good luck

1. Get the book, what to expect when expecting...very good book to use as a guide.
2. 1st pregnancies they say around wk 16 to 20, I personally kept getting a weird little feeling like holding an earthworm in the palm of your hand...but in the lower part of my abdomen-especially if I bent over to pick something up.
3. I cried a couple of times, Ha! my best was the tears that flowed freely while stirring my coffee at the Starbucks counter when the over head started playing jealous guy by john lennon...lol...I boohooed like a child.
4. cravings: an insatiable need to get whatever...for awhile mine was ms. winners cinnamon rolls.
5. Quitting your job is up to you, if you can afford to go ahead.
6. You'll learn all about scared and worried...normal, normal, normal...but remember you've got to have some down time too...to much worry isn't healthy for your baby. I used to think of all the good things about having a baby when the worries creeped in.
7. depending on your desire to decorate...if you are going with and boy or girl theme...then you'll have to wait til after your 20weeks. If you're going for something unisex...you can start anytime you like.

Do you have a copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting" yet? That book tells you everything you could possibly want to know. Well, except whether you should quit your job.
