Credit unions tend to have lower fees for services and they traditionally would give loans to members of the credit union who would not get the time of day at a bank. The playing field is starting to level as credit unions and banks start to compete for the same customers. Set down at the Customer Services Reps desk at both the bank and credit union and get details on every type of service you might be interested in using and compare the two. That's the only way to make a true comparison, b/c these things vary from state to state. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
