the first thing i would do is call your internet provider and see what the say......next if they cant help you should discconnet the router and leave it off for abut a minute then connect it again and check it out

The problem can be the wireless link between pc and router, it can be the router, and it can be the ISP (modem or connection).

To rule out the wireless side, use a straight cat 5 between pc and router LAN port. If the problem remains, it is not the wireless side.

To rule out the router, remove the router from the system and connect the pc to the modem. Reboot modem and pc. If the problem remains, call your ISP it is an ISP problem. If the problem stopped when you removed the router, you have a defective router or an incorrect router configuration. Double check the configuration and if all is ok, see if you can get newer firmware for the router from the maker. If newer firmware is available load it onto the router. If you cannot get newer firmware, replace the router.

Ok when you set it up put it on static ip. Once installed etc, go to the routers homepage in internet browser: type

192.168.2.1

And then THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. Go onto channel and then select channel 1,5 or 6. These are the best channels for the uk. I have channel 5 never had any problems. Or you could select one of these channels when installing your router.

Also if you do have a problem i.e. Your router isn't displaying an internet connection just switch plug on then back off. (Restarts itself)

Haha that used to happen to me, it drove me nuts...

You might have to get a new router or computer.

Do you do a lot of downloading? That may be the problem, too. Be careful with that stuff.

I had the same problem. Squirrels had partially chewed through the cable at the pole and it was causing my modem to keep rebooting.
