Jordan - a river in Palestine that empties into the Dead Sea; John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the Jordan

I believe Jhordan is simply an alternative spelling.

I think it means "unnecessary 'h'." If you take out the "h" you have "Jordan," a perfectly good name meaning "the river flowing between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea." It's a common first name and surname throughout the Western world.

I'm tired of the spelling games parents have been playing lately. A name like "Madison" isn't trendy enough for some people, so they change it to "Maddisyn" or something similar. (Sadly, I am not making that one up. A first-grade girl in a class I subbed was cursed by that name.)

assuming its the same as Jordan,, same pronunciation..

JORDAN

Gender: Masculine & Feminine

Usage: English, Biblical

Pronounced: JOR-dan [key]
From the name of a river flowing between the countries of Jordan and Israel. The river's name in Hebrew is יַרְדֵן (Yarden), and it is derived from יָרַד (yarad) meaning "descend" or "flow down". John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ in its waters, and it was adopted as a personal name after crusaders brought back water from the river to baptize their children.

I think it must be something like, "My parents can't spell so I accidentaly got named Jhordan when they meant to write Jordan." Or something.
