We have the UFL with Mark Cuban as a potential owner...and we have the AAFL trying to bring a college atmosphere to a professional game.

Considering the past disasters of the XFL and USFL...the failed US attempts by the CFL and, what is now, NFL Europa...no league has been able to compete with the NFL since the AFL.

What are your thoughts on the potential, if any, for the two new leagues?

I think it is possible for another league to compete with the NFL but they will have to do much what the old American Football League did prior to the merger. They need to go after markets that have not been exploited by the NFL, can't bleed money out of a turnip, and play during the NFL's season actually competeing with the NFL. They need to put teams in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Memphis, Omaha, Birmingham, Santa Fe, San Antonio, Portland, dare I say Canton, maybe even an international market like Toronto, Mexico City, or Montreal, to win over these fan bases. They shouldn't do anything different or innovative, just give us more of the sport we love.

The problem any other league would have is trying to atract quality players to the league. Who in their right mind would forego the NFL to play in an upstart league that probably can't compete salary wise, nor can it compete with the level of fame. The NFL has a stranglehold on the game of football that isn't going anywhere. Every other league will be looked at as minor league system. Ask any arena football fan. The leagues will fail in about 4 years. There best bet is to combine the Ufl and the AAFl so that we can get them out of the way quickly.

You're probably in exactly the same boat as the vast majority of sports gamblers up and down the country who are dropping way more than they actually win. You might have the sporadic win that keeps you finding its way back for more, but most of the time your selections lose. And that charges you actually more cash! If you want to put the conclusion at this dilemma then you definitely must look here https://tr.im/GkVs1 .

Mark Cuban has the business savvy to stick with it to make the new league work and he has the determination.

Plus, playing during the NFL season will be a smarter move than what the USFL and XFL did by attempting to play games during the NFL offseason.

Some ideas are better left as ideas. If it comes off as a minor league to the NFL (as does NFL Europe), then it can work. B ut anything that remotely rivals the NFL won't work. It's all a matter of fan support. The first few games would be cool because of the novelty. But when that wears off, and the owners have to come out of their pockets to pay the players, then it's days would be numbered.

I think the UFL might have a chance, since it will be during the same season as the NFL, but on a different day. I look forward to it, as long as there is competition and a team I can stand to support.

I really like the idea of the AAFL, we really need domestic football in the springtime. Also, they want to get players from the region that the team is, so that players are familiar to local fans. I like the idea of the UFL, but not as much. Friday nights are not a good time for football, unless you are in high school.

They'll both be gone within two or three years.

Arena Football (as much as some hate it) is the perfect model for potential leauges to follow. Don't try to compete directly with the NFL, find something that sets your league apart.

Actually, the USFL, wasn't all that bad. they were getting all the good players. You should check out some of their teams rosters. their big downfall was, trying to go head to head with the NFL, too soon.

I'm all about football. I am open to ANY football games whether it be HS, college, pro, or these new ones. I like football....PERIOD! I'll watch it no matter who is playing. I am all for it!!

Now I dont think they will last longer than the XFL did, but more power to them!
