I work in IT and I have no degree.... I never even went to college. I Make 35 an hour plus overtime.....

Just be good at what you do and dont expect to start at the top. You have to earn it.... Offer to take on more responsibilities and show initiative. You will do fine.

Put in the years of experience, dedication, and have outstanding references.

Some jobs that do not require a degree, require at least 3 to 5 years of experience and can pay about 15 to 18 dollars and hour to begin with. But in order to move up to the next level, a lot of times that degree is required.

You will have to start out at the lower rates, but if you are good, you can move up my son did, and is still moving up. Went to a internet provider started at $8.50 answering phone, within a year 2 promotions and is up around $12, and starting to get real good job offers. Get the experience, show a good effort, and with a little time, things will start progressing

If you don't have the education, you need the experience. If you don't have the experience, then you have to start somewhere, and $9/hour is going to have to be the place for you to start. The real world sucks, I know, but we can't get what we want all the time, especially in the work world where there is always someone with more education or more experience.

Sorry, you have to start somewhere.
