I know something my sister gave my dad one year. She made a horse and put a name plate on it. Clippety clob. Dad would always draw pictures of a horse and he always called the horse Clippety clob,it always had short legs. He would tell the grandkids and greatgrand kids how he rode with Jesse James on this stupid horse! It was a story he would always tell for fun. My sister made a ceramic horse with these real short legs on it. It was really funny and he kept that ugly thing in the living room for years!

Well, I think this Father's Day will be the best yet. I found a place that researches surname history. I had one made of my maiden name (Dad's last name) - "Carver". It traces the name back to England in the 1560. It goes back to the exact point that I traced our genealogy. We had the document framed. I think he's going to love it.

I cant really remember. I know I gave a gold stopwatch to my dad last year that said Grandpa on it. I bought it and said it was from my daughter (she was only a year and a half so...). He loved it. I also gave him a magnet/picture frame that said "I Love Grandpa" on it with a pic of my daughter in it. For my husband, I bought a bunch of different things. Tools, a card, a cheesecake (he loves cheesecake), and some other stuff.

I gave my father a trip. My sister and I pooled out money and sent him to a resort he had always talked about going to. I've given him soooooo many gifts he never used. They sat and collected dust in his closet. THIS...... he actually used. He was happy, my sister and I were happy. It was a great father's day!
