Local Area Connection (LAN) IS your internet connection. Right click it and choose properties to set it up. There's also an icon on your tashbar called Network and Sharing, click on it to configure your internet connection.

I need more information

Usually the ISP terminates with a modem. If you have more than one pc, you use a router to interface with the modem and all pcs connect to the LAN side of the modem.

Usually the router will assign LAN IP addresses via DHCP and the pcs are set to obtain IP address automatically.

If you do not have a connection from your LAN to a router and router to Internet you cannot possibly have Internet connection.

Please describe what equipment you have and how it is configured and we can help.
