My one year old has developed some slightly rough, slightly red patches on her skin. She has one behind her shoulder, a few on the back of her upper arm, more widespread behind her knees (but above the creases) and some dry spots on the creases at the front of her ankles. She has no fever and the spots don't seem to itch or even bother her at all for that matter so I feel there is no cause for alarm. She does have a doctors appt. next week, so I will definitely bring it up then, but I wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this?
She has recently started on cheeses and yogurts, but has no other allergy symtoms (i.e. no vomitting, diarrea, hive like rashes, or wheezing).
Do you think this could be excema or just a case of dry, sensitive skin??? Thanks for your help!

My oldest son had excema. The doctor gave us some cream and liquid medicine in case of a really bad break out. I thought it was strange but the doctor told me not to give him peanut butter, eggs, corn, fish, or tomato. I accidentally gave him eggs once and he got a really bad rash all over. Excema usually itches. Until she goes to the doctor, try putting 1% hydrocortizone cream on it and aveeno lotion.
He is twelve now and doesn't have any problems any more-he has outgrown it and can now eat all of the above. Good Luck!!

Could be excema or just plain dry skin or could be an allergy to dairy - one doesn't need all the symptoms ot have an allergy.
My DD has had excema since birth and we've used Aquaphor on her and it seems to help except when it gets really bad. Eucerin works well too, expensive but worth it. We avoid smelly detergents or diapers (LUVS stink!), as well as use Aveeno for all her bath products.
You can try these and see if it helps, and if not, try cutting back on dairy and see if it helps.

My son had that problem on his face and the doctor said it was excema and to use the Huggies Ultra Sensitive lotion because it was safe for that. He also said most babies develop some form of it and they grow out of it. Just keep lotion on it or even vaseline is really great. Good luck.

Could be exema or from the heat. My son had exema but it went away. It was associated with his asthma. I use moisturizing soaps and make sure his bath is only luke warm. Hot baths can dry out the skin. If you are concerned that it may be the food then stop giving it to him and if he starts to clear up before the appt. then you know that is what caused it.

If the dairy and rash began at the same time, try giving no dairy for a couple weeks. If not, then try switching to non-scented washes like aveeno and see if that makes a difference. She will most likely grow out of this :)

My son had excema on his eye lids and on his ears and back. The doctor recommended Arbonne Baby Care wash, and I saw a difference withinin three days. It's all natural, hypoallergenic, no fragrance or color,e tc. It worked so well on baby's sensitive skin, I now use it for all my boys. I have a sample, let me know if you'd like me to send it to you... it truly worked wonders on him!

Probiotics have shown to be very beneficial in helping treat eczema. The studies have been done with the Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) strain of bacteria and the only supplement that has it is called Culturelle. You can easily open the capsule and mix it with the babies milk. Ask your doctor...I'm sure he'll agree...
Google "probiotiocs eczema" and you'll see all the studies done.

It might be excema. My son has it. I would recommend Aveeno Baby lotion. It is specifically for babies with excema or extremely dry skin. It has helped my son's clear up.

She could have eczema. If she does the doctor will prescribe you something that works wonders. My son was diagnosed with it when he was about six months old and as soon as we started putting the topical medicine on it on a regular basis, disappeared for the most part. Good luck.
