"I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness. That is clear. Whether one believes in religion or not, whether one believes in this religion or that religion, we all are seeking something better in life. So, I think, the very motion of our life is towards happiness..."

-Dalai Lama

The purpose of life is to achieve enough sentience to know everything. The universe apparently wants to look into the mirror so it can see what it looks like. Life forms are rapidly evolving, creating isolated pockets of sentience that will one day be pooled into an all-knowing consciousness.

The purpose of a human life is merely to serve this longer term goal by acquiring knowledge, wisdom, and truth, and spreading it as far as possible, both geographically (through communication) and temporally (though procreation and archiving).

Can you describe a rainbow without colors? So you cannot describe life without meaning either. Life is replete with meaning. Everything you do counts. Every word you speak has is effect. Every thought that enters your mind lives eternally.

Your soul is the sum product of everything you do, every word you speak, and every thought that enters your mind. There is no such thing as a wasted prayer, or a fruitless love. Therefore take heed about how you nurture your soul. Seek truth, practice love and relish everything in this world that is beautiful.

There is no purpose of life! As there is no purpose for the existence of our universe! So... just enjoy the time you have left.... and that's all!.

The idea that life and consciousness spontaneously rose from inert matter, and that it only happened on one planet in a universe of untold billions upon billions is crazy. In fact, Quantum Mechanics and M Theory tell us that matter is formed from spiraling packets of energy, and that every possible event exists until consciousness acts on the probability field to form a chosen reality.

Therefore consciousness acting on energy forms us and the universe we perceive. Consciousness forms matter, it did not arise from matter - it pre-existed matter and acted to create matter. This is scientific fact and can be proven in the laboratory.

While science can tell us how we got here, it can never tell us why we are here. There is however a plausible explanation that answers the question, agrees with current scientific knowledge and is compatible with the core ideas of most major religions.

That is that: In the beginning there was God, God was all that existed and there was nothing that existed that was not God. This is the definition of infinite and eternal.

God was composed entirely of energy whose closest word we have to describe is Love. God was fully aware of His/Her own Divinity. However, since God was all that there was He/She could not experience every aspect of this Divinity. Just as you cannot experience "forgiveness" unless there is someone other than you who has done something for you to forgive.

So God modified the vibrational patterns of His/Her body of energy so that matter would form. This initiated a process of physical evolution where matter formed stars and stars created heavy elements that formed planets. Some of these planets developed atmospheres and oceans that were appropriate to support life. The spark of life was implanted and life evolved to eventually produce a species with large enough brains to host a self-aware consciousness. All for the purpose of evolving beings that can experience all that they choose.

We are all direct physical manifestations of God experiencing the adventure of life on an evolutionary world. The path of our evolution is towards the fundamental nature of the Creator - Love. Eventually each of us will choose to do the will of the Creator just as Jesus did and express the same unconditional Love for all of God's creatures that God does.

When we do we will bring our fundamental energy vibrations into accord with those of the Original Source, re-uniting with Him/Her. This is the definition of enlightenment.

That is our purpose, the reason for us and all of creation. To allow us to experience all that we choose on the path of learning Love and finding our way back to the Creator.

There is definitely a purpose to life, but we can not even begin to understand with our limited faculties, & some are closer to that understanding than others.

there is no purpose, it all comes down to the individual, in my opinion happiness is the most desired emotion, so the purpose would be to spend as much of your time happy by being as succesful as possible in ALL areas of your life

The achievement of perfection, originally life as we see it, in the material world wasn't suppose to be only in a material Body, but in a more perfect physical expression. despite that we use the word Physical, materially perfect because of the substances of our body we are perfect as the first man Adam, perfectly create, but not Physically perfect. Perfection can come to life within our self if we become centralize a perfect combination, approx. 33% of each of this, Mentality, Spirituality and physicality.

The purpose of life is this (at least in America):

To buy crap you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you shouldn't care about.
