My last divorce I went online to the courthouse website. I looked for the Family Services link which then put me towards the divorce papers. I downloaded the word documents and then adjusted them to my needs. I then went to the courthouse and submitted my papers. All I needed to do was pay the filing fee of $250. Then waited for the wait time and went back with the rest of the papers. 91 days later the divorce was final. This works well with a no-contest divorce. If there are children or if your spouse will give you difficulties, go to the courthouse and ask for divorce advice, they will get you in contact with lawyers who will assist you.

I did my own divorce by calling the courthouse, finding out what forms I needed and going to the law library for the blank forms. I got divorced basically for free. Make sure, if you do that, you get everything, I screwed up and had to go to court 3 different times because I didn't have everything I needed. But whatever, i got loose from the bas%%%

Call a referral service and see if they have any attorneys that will take payments, or see if you can get an atty to put in the papers that HE will pay your atty fees! I'm just afraid if you do it yourself, you will end up costing yourself something you should get! Good Luck!

Yes, every major city has legal clinics. Look in the phone book or even call any local law office and they can direct you to a local agency. But be careful, often you get exactly what you pay for.
