Of course not. As many others have said, I would consider this a Fascist country if we didn't or weren't allowed to question authority.
It's funny how Bill Clinton is a "criminal" because he had an affair, but Bush isn't a criminal, even though he and his cronies all lied to us to get us to buy into the war. Bush hasn't stopped lying. Americans are finally waking up to that fact, as his lowest of all-time approval rating (down to 29% as of yesterday) shows us.
Remember the last time our economy was considered good? That's right, Bill Clinton was in office.

No, my dear friend. It is the President that should defend the people. The President (who is an elected official) is a public servant, answerable to the people if he makes a mistake. The people have no obligation (moral or legal) to support OR defend the president.
The president is not a Monarch. Anyone who is a President must uphold the constitution and be held accountable for his every action, good or bad.

It's anti-American to defend a president who breaks the law and does everything he can to destroy his own country.
No patriot defends a traitor.
True patriots speak out against wrongs their government commits.
That's supposed to be the whole point of NOT living in a dictatorship.

No; because in his eyesight there were no 'mistakes.' A sense of patriotism requires a sense of strength and resolve. It also means that I am not constrained to believe or herald everything the president does all because of my sense of 'patriotism'. If a person is wrong, they are wrong.
Anyway, the president is fully capable of defending himself. So let him.

No, no one should defend him if that person disagrees with his decisions or thinks he has made mistakes or taken the country in the wrong direction. But, you can stand behind him regardless. That just means that instead of saying "Bush is an idiot monkey who needs to be impeached", say, "I do not agree with the ____________ he has done or the way he has lead the country, but in this time of war, while we have soldiers fighting over seas, I will stand behind the president." Then get involved with the political process and try to make changes where you think they need to be.

No. I do not. A patriot is someone who loves and defends the country. Goerge Bush is not this country, nor is he a good representation of our country. His mistakes are detrimental to America, and our freedom and soveirgnty. If you are a patriot you defend this country and the constitution that made it so great.

Absolutely not. Think about it in corporate terms.
The president is a temporary employee, you don't have to love the temp to be a "patriotic" employee, but you should love the company.
