Wrong, most use soviet made (and Chinese knock offs) Ak-47's, they are cheap and plentiful. Since the colapse of the Soviet Union, Ak's have flooded the global market. This is the primary weapon of militants, terrorist and freedom fighters.

As Nacho said - the AK 47 [or newer AK74] are easily available and may argueably be said to be a more reliable weapon. Pakistan is near, and is a constant source of ready-made weapons of all types.
