Can't tell certainly from the single 'taste' of your poetics. But, I don't despair of your becoming a good poet. Poetry isn't a quality a person has, but is a capacity a person develops--a skill.

The poem you show here is pretty weak stuff, but it isn't without its promise. You could, with practice, become 'a good poet,' that is, a writer who is able to transcend the limits of given language. But you have some bad habits of thought, manifested in this example of your work; these bad habits MUST go, else your hope of becoming a good poet is blasted.

A couple of tips follow. Give up these ideas: that capital letters lend weight to thought; that soliloquy equals poetry; that writing half-way across the page equals poetry; that spelling doesn't matter; that your first words are the right words.

not bad for starters. the most important skill for a poet is having a creative mind and the right words.
from what I can see, you definately have a creative mind, you just need to build it.
read more poems, study the literary devices, and build your vocabulary.
dont stop writing no matter how silly it might sound. and dont be afraid of criticism whether positive or negative.
THATS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.
good luck

A Good writer, especially a poet, is well read. Read more. Read everything old and new. Learn to interprete and criticize the work of other poets. That is how you will learn. You have potential. If you love it...then work at it.

Hello
Well for me this poem isnt the greatest
But who am I or anyone to judge your
poetry its your passion and has a special
meaning to you that none of us can see so as for a famous poet I dont think this will be the poem to get you there mainly because we cant see the passion but if you had one that we could all relate to or showed a lot of heart it would be better!

of course you will become a good poet, if there's a will, there's a way... write more poems..
but poem in capital letters is like shouting
i think you know what words need attention for improvement,
your poem sounds nice.....

I hope so
You can write me a poem anytime
But sadly for now I must go.
Keep your chin up and never stop
And big things will be coming your way
I hope to see you one day at the very top

You could be a great poet one day but it will be when you leave this kind of shite behind. read more poets.

to x1day_dreamer6x --you need to go back tocollege and learn how to spell.
