Do collect things?

I started to collect photos of dates plaques on buildings. I was planning to get all from 1800 to today.
But gave up because it would take a lifetime!

A shame you gave that up. Seems interesting, inexpensive, and a hobby that doesn't involve tons of competition and can be committed to with variable intensity. Photos of gargoyles on some of those older buildings in older sities is also interesting, though I've never done it.

I have collected many things for decades and decades. The biggest for me was/is coins. Morgan dollar varieties (VAMs) and prooflikes is a huge focus. I also have done stamps, rare records, beer cans, sheet music, .... you name it.

My major collection is dolls, the type who appear to be real children predominantly (many by the German doll artist Annette Himstedt), but I have all sorts and sizes, actually; with a doll collection, space becomes problematic if one wishes to display them, which I do -- thus, limits must be set eventually.
I also collect fairy figurines as well as geodes and other crystals and stones, Tarot decks, and books of all kinds, particularly those devoted to metaphysical/esoteric subjects and historical fiction. I am quite the Collector, I imagine!

I am embarrassed to admit I have a large collection of Hello Kitty stuff,it started as a joke a few years ago now everyone keeps buying me it for birthdays and Xmas, I'm a tasteful person really!

I collect photographs of great ferrets in history. Since he got Tiny, Nigel has started collecting photographs of great newts in history.

I used to collect underwear stolen from washing lines but the court ordered me to give them all back
