people will say stupid things like "we can never know"

you only have two ideas: that you only exist and this is all a dream by your subconcious (solipsism), or the matrix idea which is cartesian skepticism.

but if you read wittgenstein you will see how language itself would not be possible and would not exist if those idea were true. the very fact that you can have a lanaguage ant hink linguisticaly shows that there are other minds. because on mind cannot create a language.

however the ideas are said to be "disprovable". but the theories are self refuting and the theories only hold on the grounds that nothing can be proved EMPERICALY accept for "i think thereefore i am". it just an emperical technicality

Some persons suffer from depersonalization (or derealization), a psychological dissociative disorder that makes persons feel cut out or detached from their bodies. This contributes to the "I am only in a dream" state of mind.

Other persons allow fallacy to make them lose their capacity to distinguish between fantasy and reality. Regarding your example about solipsists, I must note that they 'argue from ignorance'; arguments from ignorance belong to a type of fallacious argument. Just because there is no evidence that satisfies some solipsists and the like enough to accept the reality that they are not simply in a dream does not mean that they are only in a dream. They present no evidence to support their claim that this reality is based on a dream. They assume that by just pointing to what they consider the lack of evidence to support the view that this reality is more than a dream they are providing a sufficient argument. However, that argument can only be fallacious. Arguments from ignorance cannot make knowledge.

Their claim is not accepted by science and rational thought so the burden of proof falls on them, but they try to make it fall on those who disagree with them. However, their claim is non-falsifiable, so they cannot prove anything. According to science and rational methods of knowledge acquisition, non-falsifiable claims do not merit much consideration. Much less do such claims merit to be taken seriously.

Cool your jets, mr crabby pants. People don't want to read ad hominem rants...
Not everyone agrees with Wittgenstein, some of those people happen to be very intelligent and don't need to quote other sources, they can write their own arguments.
Aside from that, it's a fun thing to discuss and think about. If you don't like it, then don't think about it or participate in conversations about it.

To live is to dream. To die is to be reborn.
