I know there is a simple algebraic way to do this... Just can't seem to figure it out.

.0242x +.0835 =.0488x +.0488
.0242x - .0488x = .0488-.0835
-.0246x = -.0347
x= 1.41
Add 1.41 parts 2.42% solution to 1 part 8.35% solution

(242/100+835/100)x=433/100
1077/100x=433/100
x=433/1077 =40% (approx) of the 8.35, to 60% of the 2.42

Proof:
835x2=1670
242x3=726
1670+726=2396
2396/5=479.2 or 4.792%

To be more precise:
835x21=17535
242x30=7260
17535+7260=24795/51
24795/51=486.17 or 4.8617%

This means the ratio is closer to 30 parts 2.42 and 21 parts 8.35

You can keep going to one decimal closer but the number is pretty long considering 433/1077=
