I like my lettuce at the top, where it belongs, but everytime I go, no matter which store, no matter who makes the sub, they put the lettuce on the BOTTOM.

I'm just wondering why they do it this way? I just deal with it because it's easier than looking like a prick and asking "could you please put the meat on the bottom side of the sub and lettuce on top?" I just don't understand it, you want the meat on the bottom because it's closer to your tongue.

they do this because meat will make the bread soggy. the lettuce protects the bread from the meat and dressing. it repels moisture.
