Isn't it all just labeling people in a negative way?

Sorry Sawy, being an albino is NOT a condition. Having Albanism is a condition. Do you call people with Autism "Autismos"?

the "n" word was formed from using the THEN politically correct term "*****" which in many latin languages simply means "black". So, "n" IS short for the color that is close to an African American's skin. HOWEVER, Ignorant, hateful, horrid people used the "n" word to degrade and nullify the entire black population during the slavery days. Therefore, it is simply UNACCEPTABLE now. I could mention that there are many derrogatory terms that people use widely in ignorance. Albino is one of them. Probably because we are not a country with large groups of people with albinism that are outraged by their unfair treatment.
I am offended when someone says they were "GYPed" out of something. My great-gramma was a full-blood Gypsy and the fact that "gyp" is synonymous with theft is offensive to my family. many people are unaware of the origin of the word and use it in ignorance. instead of getting angry and violent, I use the opportunity to educate. You'd be amazed at how many times I have stopped strangers, wrote to papers, or corrected friends when they use "gyp" to describe getting cheated. When people become lovingly informed, they are quick to change their vocabulary.
remember, we don't "JEW" the price down either.
and while we're at it, why is it ok to call someone names who is overweight?!?!?
HELLO?!?!? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY MANNERS ANYMORE?!?!
We are all Americans. I happen to be a small, big-eyed gypsy-german-french-scottish- english-type American. My ancestors were on the Mayflower, and some came 300 years later...some were tall, some were short, blind, ugly, fat, skinny, bald, stupid, smelly or strange. My point is, everyone has a quirk. We just need to be nice.... and spread the word, man!!!

Albino is not a politically correct term. The respectful term is "person with albinism." And to the person who said it's a skin cancer - do a little research, will ya?

What else would you call an albino? I always thought that was a politically correct term.

If you're looking at things this way, I think calling a caucasian person white is racist. I'm not white--i'm sort of a cross between rose and peach.

Albinos is short for Albinism (or whatever) it actually comes from that word. The "n" word is not short for "African American". It's a horrible word that's associated with years of unnecessary evil!!

I'm always surprised by questions like this (even if they happen all too often).

Do you really not understand slavery? By calling or labeling someone as a n***** you are calling them an animal. People didn't think of slaves as people. And n***** is a word created to express that humanity.

I'm sorry. I didn't know "Albino" was an offensive term. I thought Albino was the actual scientific term, because other species, other than humans are ummm, pigmentally challenged.

You are ignorant. You are trying to compare apples and grapes. Albino is a skin pigment condition when there is no color to the skin or hair. You dummy.

The word N..., was given in a derogatory form for African American slaves; there's nothing nice about it.

Report me, delete me I don't care. I will gladly loose points for this answer.
