Yes there is one. IT goes that if there are thirteen stairs you have bad luck ( I don't know for how long.). So in order for no one to get the bad luck most places with stairs don't have 13. most actually are less but there are a few that have more. (DON'T think that there isn't any that don't have thirteen because there are a few out there.)

In most buildings you will never find 13 stairs..there will usually be 12 or 14 almost every government building is like this...by the way if you study words...the word luck goes back to the word lucifer which means empowered to fail....hope it helps

I had heard that you never step on the 13th step (but they never say if it is going up or coming down)
