At work everyone goes on about how great/hot this summer (UK) is gonna be. I for one aren't a fan of the sweltering nights tossing and turning in bed cos of the heat. Sweating all day long and feeling the heavy heat bear down like some goliath thing. This year I wanna go away somewhere cool and comfortable.
Am I just being a miserable g1t or do others out there share these thoughts?

Glad to hear someone thinks the same as me. Everyone I know thinks I'm mad. I can not stand the hot weather. I love the wind and the rain. It is the only thing that puts a smile on my face so roll on the winter again. It is nice to know I am not the odd one after all. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to you for making my day.

No you are definately not alone. I love all kinds of weather, depending on what I'm doing. Rainy Sundays laying on the sofa watching a good old black and white film, crisp autumnal days walking in the forest and warm balmy days spent pottering in the garden or in the park with the kids or at the beach,

The sweltering hot days are no use to anyone. You no sooner get out of a cool shower or bath that you're sweating again, you cant be bothered to do anything and even the most minor jobs become an effort.
I lie in bed at night trying to sleep, tossing and turning

Weather like this should be banned....who do we petition though?

I do not like the hotter weather either. Working in an office with no air conditioning and windows that hardly open is not much fun.

I hate the hot nights too as it is a choice between sweltering with the windows closed or listening to the sodding seagulls!

I totally agree. I just bought an air conditioner to deal with the heat (Canada, similar summer temperatures to UK but less humid). I don't see what's so great about hot weather. Just because we suffer through months of cold weather doesn't mean we need hot weather to balance it off. It just doubles the suffering.

I would highly recommend buying a small window or portable A/C. This isn't going to be the last hot summer.

what hot summer? here in Connecticut US, we've been stuck in a cooler and wetter than normal June. there's a weather system hoovering over the Atlantic that just doesn't want to move. we're back to wearing sweaters, shoes & socks. not me! i'm wearing my sandals no matter what! we had a couple of hot, humid days before this and if it's going to be like that all summer? i'll be living in the pool when i'm not at work freezing in the a/c. it's just a phase we're all going through. weather isn't predictable no matter how hard we try to say what it's going to do or go.

Nope you're not alone at all. I'm not a fan of the hot, humid weather either. I live in the Midwest in the US and it has been hot and sticky off and on here since mid March. I prefer the much cooler days of Spring and Fall. I much prefer not having to run my air conditioner or heater. LOL

You are not alone. I don't understand the attraction in wanting to fry yourself alive in the hot sun. I can't stand it. I'd be better off living somewhere like Norway or Sweden where it is cooler.

No, you're not a miserable git. If you are, then I am too!
