Mini blinds?

I HATE THIS JOB. Just seeing if anyone has better, easier ideas!

Thanks!

For a fast and easy way to clean your mini blinds, use an old pair of cotton gloves. After you put the gloves on dip the finger tips in a solution of ammonia and water, then run your fingers through the mini blinds. This is perhaps the best and most fun way to clean your mini blinds. Kids will even enjoy helping.

When you have finished cleaning your mini blinds let them dry. Then use a dryer softener sheet and rub the dryer softener sheet over your blinds. This will remove any static so that dust will no longer be able to attach to them. Thus your cleaning time in the future will be greatly reduced and much easier.

Ahhhh mini blinds. I'm assuming these are the plastic or metal kind and not wood. This won't work on wood as you will ruin them.

Take them down and open them up on the driveway.
Fill a bucket up with soapy water (dish soap works fine or maybe a shampoo you bought that you don't care for).
Use a brush on a stick such as a car wash brush and scrub the blinds.
Flip the blinds over.
Repeat the scrubbing process.
Rinse blinds using water hose.
Hang from fence or in shower and allow to dry (maybe even over night)
Re-hang

If you don't have a fence then secure in shower or somplace dry (not where you washed) and run a towel along each section in order to dry it before hanging.

Use a feather duster (ostrich feathers) to dust them weekly (takes just a few seconds per blind) and you won't have to do this again.

Good luck and happy cleaning

I use the brush attachment on the vacuum cleaner to get the dust off or sometimes canned air to get the dust off of the strings. But, in the kitchen where grease splatters on them I use clorox clean up wipes as soon as I see a spot. The key is not to let them get too dusty or dirty, so that you don't have to take them down soak them in the tub or have to spray them with a hose on the driveway and scrub them which is way on more work.

use plain old palmolive or dawn dish soap. take the blinds down, toss them in a tub filled w/warm water and some soap and let them soak. this will loosen the dirt and dust. if you have someone around, have them old the blinds up over the tub while you wipe them down with a cloth or a scrub brush (although the cloth works better), then rinse (its easier with a showerhead that has a hose attached to it). also, its this isnt an option, take the blinds outside and use your garden hose and palmolive/dawn to clean them.

I use a used bounce sheet from the dryer, or an old sock and wipe away
