The price difference is very minimal. Amd has L2 of 2MB and Intel's L2 is 4 MB.Will lbe buying one of these this weekend.

The performance on these is very very close, I would say a very small advantage to the E6600, but nothing major. This is based on looking at benchmarks from about 10 different sites. As for stability, both very stable, no problems there. If you plan to overclock, go with the Intel, it will overclock much higher, otherwise its a coin toss.

The AMD is by far faster then that intel and more stable with running games and apps. It will not over heat your machine as much as the intel as well uses less power.
You can go search the 2 processors for rating and AMD will win byfar from intel.
Intel is a good processor. But not the best...
I have a Intel and AMD and i Love my AMD so much more.
Intel is in it for the money
AMD is in for the power.
Just do research and see what you need and what will benfit you in the long run.

Get Intel. I would not change any Intel based motherboard with the most expensive AMD based motherboard.

I would go towards the E6600, the extra cache does make a difference

DUAL CORE it the best I tested bouth AMD and DUAL CORE there just about the same but i found out that DUAL CORE let me run every thing smooth and fast with AMD it had a wate time just to load the game i was going to play or program i was going to use .Dual core just took a sec to start anything...i all so tryed AMD Athlon 64 FX that was allso good ..BUT my pick would be DUAL CORE...GOOD LUCK
