This is a surprisingly difficult question to answer.
On the one hand I do not want to see vigilantly or mob rule. on the other I want to ensure the safety of children. I mob want to have them die slowly and painfully and I have some sympathy with this but Justice says this is not the way. I think these people should be in some way protected from their inclinations bur i do not know how it can be done

If you name them, the good folks of this country will hunt them down and they will go underground. Then the teams watching them, like social services and the police will have no idea what they are up to and children will be more at risk.
Does anyone remember when the News of the World named and shamed a couple of years ago? A (thick) vigilante mob torched the house of a paediatrician - you know - someone who saves children's lives!!!!
Unfortunately, most people cannot be trusted with this kind of information.
I have 2 boys and if I found out that my next door neighbour was a paedophile, how would I be able to stop myself froming having a go at him.
I keep my children as safe as I can by being a vigilant parent!

depends what you mean by peadophiles, the new laws say anyone on the sex offenders register will have there names made public, this is wrong so so so wrong, if you are an 18 year old boy and you have sex with a 15 year old girl and it gets reported you will be on the sex offenders register and people will vindicate you, I think it is possible in some cases rehabilitation can occur particualry when the offender has been arrested for possesing child porn not making it!
I know my views may be a bit contreversial but a question was asked and this is my answer

I think the right people should be able to get the right access to information on paedophiles in their area.
It will put a lot of parents worries to bed, and children's too...I don't think its 100% necesary for them to be named - but just for mothers to know "OK, there is somebody within 2 minutes away from here, with a record of paedophilia" - Because who they are and whether their name is Andrew or Tom doesn't really make a differance to the situation.

understand the problem with this, when my cousin moved to his new house a neighbour told us there was one living down the road and laughed and said the one with eggs smashed on it, turned out the bloke had slept with a 15 yo when he was 18 and got put on the register, this man is someone who would get penalised

not in the tabloid press.
where will it all end?
i'd rather know if there was a convicted violent offender, drug dealer or recidivist burglar living next door, but that's never gonna happen.
