A marriage to an American would not remove him from the line of succesion unless there were other circumstances that could not be accepted by the English people. In the past, heirs to the throne have married people from Denmark (Queen Mary), Germany (Prince Albert), Greece (Prince Phillip) as well as Spain and France.
The only American woman to marry an heir to the British throne was Wallis Simpson, a divorcee. The king abdicated his title because the people and government of England would not tollerate having a divorcee become their queen (consort), and the king and his bride took the titles, Duke and Dutchess of Windsor. His brother became King George VI, the father of the current monarch.

Prince William is not next in line for the throne, his father Prince Charles is.
Nearly all British kings have married foreign brides, there is no restriction on that. The only one he cannot marry is a Roman Catholic, since the king is also head of the Church of England. He also must have the approval of the Queen.

Yes, she would be awarded some title. William is not out to do what Edward VIII did when he married Wallis Simpson, unless the rule on marrying a divorcee still holds strong.

Assuming that's her only "flaw", then yes - there's nothing that says the spouse of a monarch has to be British or has to be a member of the aristocracy. Queen Elizabeth II is married to a Greek, and her mother was not a member of the nobility.

Yes he would. The fact that he marries a woman from another country does not mean that he will lose his claim to the throne. The woman, although american, would become a british princess and later queen.

Yes, as long as:
a. She's not Catholic
b. The Queen agreed to the marriage
c. Parliament agreed to the marriage
With Edward VIII (who abdicated to marry Wallis Impson) the problem wasn't she was American, it was that she had been divorced twice (when divorce was not as common as it is now).

As long as she was not a catholic there would be no reason for William not to ascend to the throne if he had married a woman from America...

Yes, there's no law against it, currently there's only a law against Roman Catholics. And Britain has a notorious history of their royals marrying other royals from different countries. So I don't think a girl from the US would be much different.
