People don't like the spurs because they play solid fundamentally sound basketball. They don't run and gun and score 120 points like the suns and they don't throw unnecessary fancy behind the back no look passes or dunk when laying the ball in makes more sense. People like to see players like Kobe Bryant score 80 pts or Lebron James throw it down. Winning by managing the game and playing smart, well coached basketball doesn't appeal to people who like the glitz and glamor, which is what the NBA tries to market. The spurs are my favorite team and I like that they play defense and respect their coach but the sad truth is the kind of basketball the Spurs play is fading away.

I am a huge Laker fan and I like to admit when teams are really good. This defenitly goes for the Spurs but the thing is, I think that their game is too slow making it seem a little too boring to watch. They have a great squad and all. I was listening to the radio this morning and I heard that this has been the lowest rating nba final's games ever. You would think that Lebron would bring the ratings up but we all know at the end that San Antonio will be champions, no doubt. Congratulations on another soon to be Spurs championship!

I keep hearing the word boring when it comes to the Spurs. They dont generate that much excitement. Fundamentals. For a lot of fans I'm gathering they would rather see a game where a whole bunch of 3 point shots falling and spectacular dunks.
With the Spurs, it seems the uglier the game the better. They are a defensive team as well. Also there have been complaints especially on Bowen with little cheap dirty plays so they are not the most glamorous team in the league.

Dynasties get boring after a while. When San Antonio whips up Cleveland tonight it will be less exciting. America likes under dogs and San Antonio definitely is not a under dog. I know for me, if my team is not playing for the championship then I root for the team that has either never won it or hasn't for a long time.

It is because they don't have that 'star'. Yes, Tim Duncan is probably the best player at his position in the league however he isn't the Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant or LeBron James when it comes to flashiness. Almost like why the Pistons never got too much love when they were in the Finals. It was because they never had that one star that had all the flashy moves that put people in the seats on road games. The Cavs are really getting all the attention in this series because they have LeBron and he is the only player on that team worth wild and has carried the entire team on his back basically.

They are still boring to watch! No ones denying them of their team greatness. "The Big Fundamental" isn't the most talkative superstar in the league, Manu has an OK personality and "Mr. Longoria" is a superstar in the making but not there yet even though he might win MVP. Everybody wants to talk to his future wife more than him! This kinda the perfect Finals because outside of either one of these two cities, no ones watching! Don't believe me, check the Neil son ratings; this series is on track to be the lowest rated NBA finals ever!

I am a Spurs fan and i think it is funny how everyone on Yahoo Answers is not a Spurs fan because they are too good or because they do not ballhog and use teamwork unlike other teams and they do not have one big superstar, lol.

They have played with low class throughout these playoffs---very disappointing for a team who usually displays that trait. I used to like that about them (even though I live in NY and am a sorry Knicks fan) but now have lost a ton of respect for them.
