If the gov. really (finally) secured the border, would you support the immigration bill?

Ok, well does anyone think that the border will actually ever be secured??? Should we start by allowing our border patrol agents to do their job???

We have plenty of immigration laws now... we do not need new ones... Enforce the ones we have!

Drive through any large farming or home construction site anywhere in the southern part of the US.... 99 % Mexicans and 99% of them are illegal.

Its a joke.

I don't think that the current Senate version of an immigration bill does anything to provide tougher border security, Bush's efforts to gain support without meaningful revision means he isn't going to enforce border security. I think he is misguided in his support for what is currently on the table. The House version is much stronger.

If our border was actually secured I would support an amnesty bill. I think this is why most people don't support the current Immigration bill. It just doesn't solve the problem. If they know they can come here and just wait it out till the next amnesty, its actually encouraging. That would be like giving your dog a treat to make it stop annoying you, in the end you would just be teaching the dog to do just that.

I don't think there are any plans to shut down our borders. All the pledges in the world won't make a difference because actions are stronger than words and the action certainly isn't there.

Close the borders, deport the known criminals and gang members and take it from there... But NOT before.

Securing the border and building a fence does nothing.

The mexicans just dig tunnels.

Waste of taxpayer money.

Enforce the laws that are in place now.

People who are in the country illegally should be deported.
Breaking the law is breaking the law.

I would not support it. If they wanted to, they can secure the border with the laws that are in place now.

Border security first then we can look at the best way to deal with the criminal aliens already here.

Nope. The government has a widespread no confidence vote. There are more criminals in government now than at any other time in history anywhere.

Whatsamatter don't you ever leave the house?
