Ok..so I'm rereading the Harry Potter series..again. And as I read each book I'm watchin the movie afterwards..(I know I'm a loser...lol)...but, has anyone else noticed how much the changed the movie for #3 compared to the book. #1 and #2 were not changed this much!! I mean the ending was SOOOO different..!! Did anyone else notice this???

I know they have to cut out some to make it fit in the time-frame..but that's not even what I'm talking about!! All the events that happened with the time-turner they changed completely. Like Hermione having to howl like a wolf , and throwing the pebbles to warn thier past selves to leave never even happened in the book!!!

I way did. The third book is my absolute favorite. I love how Harry learns about his parents and who they were friends with in school. I love the story behind the map and the movie totally left it completely out. I read the book first and then saw the movie. I was horrified. That's the best part!! I went with a friend who didn't read the book. I asked her if she understood the friendship between Sirius, Lupin, and Wormtail, she didn't so I had to explain the whole thing!!! I did like the third movie (with the execption of the lack of information). If they leave that much out of the next movie I am going to be really mad!!!

OMG!!! There was soooo much left out! I couldn't believe it.....They left out everything about Harry's Dad and Sirius and Lupin and The Marauder's Map.....and Wormtail, I thought it hardly made sense...the Third is probably the best of the series and the movie didn't do it justice...the only thing I liked was the way it broke the Honkey-dory mood that the first two conveyed....the movie had a dark edge and that's the Hogwarts should have been from the start...the world in which Harry loves so much is a dark a sinister place and i think the guy who directed the Third really understood that.....even if he did leave out some of the best parts!!!! ;b

I thought that the first 2 were as close as they could get to the book. After that, and my favorite Dumbledore died, they changed directors. I am just hoping that the 5th movie is closer to the book than the 3rd and 4th were. Honestly, Dobby could have given him the gilliweed just as easy as Neville did in the movie. I understanding cutting out the extra stuff, but to change something that would have taken around the same time, I don't get that.

i probably noticed...i haven't watched the movie for a while, but the people doing the movie need to cut some stuff out so the movie isn't five hours long. The one i noticed it in was the one with the quiditch world cup (fourth or fifth book). The movie makers basically took that whole part out...that made me really mad. With that part the movie really would have been five hours long.

i noticed .but as the book is too long they had to cut something.if they showed that harry gets the firebolt then they would have to show harry ron(1 side)'s arguement with hermione, then again they would have to show 2 quidditch matches because then the question would arise that why he needed a broomstick so urgently if there was no more matches at all,All in all the movie would become too long so they had to cut lupin's explaination too.TIME,BABY,TIME.they were short of time

of course we noticed....
1. as books get longer they are going to have to cut more out.....in book 4 the triwizard champions are chosen within first 15 minutes (approximate) and the other schools don't even arrive in the book till after page 400 or something....
2. different director for this film....obviously a different director will have a different vision....

The first two films were directed by Chris Columbus who was determined to keep the films as strict to the books as he possibly could. The third film was directed by Alphonso Curan who had a different point of view on the whole keeping it real to the book idea.

I did! But I suppose as the book got thicker they had to cut out more and more interesting parts. Also they had a different director so it was bound to be different! And don't think you are sad! It's a good idea! Happy reading!!
