I look at the people who have thrown their hats in the presidential campaign and I am slightly irritated. It seems like there are no TRUE conservatives anymore. McCain and Giuliani are moderate at best and it seems as though they are the ONLY 2 republicans that stand a chance.

I'm not a big supporter of the religious right, but I am a big supporter of conservatism. Any shot in the near future of having a true conservative run for office that actually has a chance?

I'm not talking as extreme as Pat Buchanan even...just SOMETHING conservative.

Ron Paul has a chance and he is a true conservative and a constitutionalist. Too top it off, he is actually an honest man. How many of those do you see in Washington???

Anyone who says his character, just does it because its easier than stating facts. He is a very intellegent man. I believe he would work hard to keep us on the defense as far as being safe goes. He would close the borders, that is better than anything Bush has done. I think Bush has made us less protected by going into Iraq.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress

At the present time,, no. But the cold hard truth is that (true) conservatives have ddone this to themselves. They have allowed the extreme right to hijack the GOP--and as you can see by the actions of the Republicans in Congress on a variety of issues, have not gathered the political courage to stand up to them.

And until they do--they don't have (and, to be blunt, don't deserve) much of a chance.

Ron Paul is the only true conservative among the rat pack. Unfortunately, America is not ready to hear the truth. They'd much rather buy in to the load of crap regurgitated by McCain, Romney and the rest of the right-wing nutcases.

Ron Paul is the only conservative currently seeking the Presidency. He is actually a libertarian by nature, which is the heart of conservatism.

He is the superior of every candidate, but he doesn't present great snapshots or snappy one-liners.

Conservative as compared to who? There is more chance that a "true" liberal will be president than a "true" conservative.

Myself I like moderation on all things including my President.
