On fathers day?....Does no one appreciate their dad's?

Personally, I think my dad's the greatest - especially because he treats my mother like a queen and expects his children to do the same - so I think he would be disappointed in us if we didn't make more of a fuss over my mother than over him. He's always been the hardest and most honest worker and a great dad. Anyway, good question - made me think! :-)

Not all dad's get the shaft. Father's day is equally important as Mother's day in my family.

I think on some level mothers are more important then fathers well I don't want to say more. Mothers give birth to you and its an instant bond that hard to be broken. also when most people only have one parent its probably their mom. Not to say that fathers aren't important to.
They have been talking about father's day alot on the discovery health ch. and other channels.

I don't know about anyone else, but my mother has done a whole lot more for me than my father. I'm not talking financially, but more emotionally and being there when I need her. My father is really good for technical questions. I just recognize that my mother has supported me in more ways than just financial.

It depends on the person. For people that dont have fathers in their lives mothers day is a bigger event than fathers day and vice versa.

Plus, fathers dont usually care about stuff like that.

Socially, men seem to make less of a "deal" about recognition holidays...so I think society has followed suit and less "importance" is given to the holiday by dad's own "indifference". But I agree, dad does seem to get the short end of the stick holiday-wise.
