Just once.

"The male ants, called drones, along with the breeding females emerge from pupation with wings (although some species, like army ants, do not produce winged queens), and do nothing throughout their life except eat, until the time for mating comes. At this time, all breeding ants, excluding the queen, are carried outside where other colonies of similar species are doing the same. Then, all the winged breeding ants take flight. Mating occurs in flight and the males die shortly afterward. The females that survive land and seek a suitable place to begin a colony. There, they break off their own wings and begin to lay eggs, which they care for. Sperm obtained during their nuptial flight is stored and used to fertilize all future eggs produced."

Yes, but after they mate in spring-summer all the males die. During spring is usually when this happens young queens and "kings" from different colonies grow wings and leave there original colony. They set out and look for a mate. After mating is done the males die and the new impregnated queens find a new place to make a colony of there own. The find a suitable place and dig a borrow. They start laying there eggs and lose there wings. During this time the new queens feed off of the extra muscle produced for use of flight. They simply just absorb the extra muscle. The worker (which are all female) and soldiers which I believe are males, but I'm not sure. Neither worker or soldier can mate, but queens and kings are specially made when that time of year comes around. So there are males they just die after mating. male ants, just like the queens, are born with wings. When the young queens take off, leaving their home nest to found a new one, the males follow and mate with them. Then the queens lose their wings and settle to have eggs till the end of their life. The males die after that mating flight.

Queens have king ants when they leave the nest. They also have wings. After they have established the first batch of new young al the useless stuff gets discarded ie male ants and wings. The queen is able to store sperm in her body to use with future batches of eggs.
