We will be leaving at 7am from Kaanapali. We are hoping to be back for a concert that night that starts at 7pm. This is our first time in Maui, is this possible? Thanks

Well, it's a damn long *** drive and I wouldn't count on being back by 7:00. You could always turn around and go back to the hotel before you get to Hana. There's really nothing even in Hana, it's just the drive that's nice.

Depending on how much you see, the Road to Hana can take a full day.
My wife I went on it. We stopped for pictures and to go in some of the pools. We left about 7 am and got back around 9. We weren't rushed, but we still felt like we missed some things on the road.
My suggestion. Don't try to make anything while driving to Hana. You'll be thinking about that in the back of your mind, and you won't enjoy where you're going. And you won't be going BACK to Hana anytime soon, once you go the first time.
A different day for Hana, my friend, unless you don't care too much about your concert.

You should be able to make it. Take a side trip to Keanae and check out Waianapanapa, the 7 Pools and Hamoa if you get the chance.
