i have one summer to improve my reputation...help? preppy girls...?

kay, so im not exactly the most popular 'preppy' girl in my school..i mean im not a loser but im not 'popular' ya know? well, i have one summer to fix that lol.
well there are some ppl who dont like me and think im annoying but w/e. and next year i am going into a higher level class where im going to be the only sophmore out of all these juniors and seniors so i am excited because no one knows me so i can be whoever i want to be...which is one of the 'pretty preppy' girls.
i dress prppy already..i guess when i can [i havent been shopping in a while] so i need some advice on what to wear, makeup tips, hair tips, and how to be 'cool' tips to maybe not be 'annoying' or dorky.
im a nice person so im not worried about ppl thinking im mean...jus them thinking im a complete loser and ugly. sometimes i dont feel like i look pretty compared to the 'preppy' girls

yea, i know the whole 'be who u r' speech and i will be me...but its my life and i can be whoever i want to be..

and who i want to be is a nice, smart, pretty girl that everyone likes [and who dresses preppy b/c thats my favorite style]] im not trying to be something im not...im just trying to enhance deep down what i feel i am or can be.

so how can i:
look beautiful [make-up, preppy clothes]?
be cool and not dorky or annoying or weird?

its not how u look. u just have to socialize a lot. i have this friend who has a crazy personality and and between classes there would be kids around her walking in he hallway. shes not even that good looking.

I know exactly how you feel... you dress preppy, but it doesnt seem like enough. So first off... hair- on the first day of school do something natural, don't curl it if yur only gonna do it for that one day.... wear it down with a small clip, or up with a really cute ribbon... as for your clothes- w/e is in style or hot... i would suggest going to the mall and just sitting around and look at wut everybody else is wearing if u want to get an idea of normal fashion... for yur makeup u just want to put something on that u notice... such as black mascara, a bit of eyeshadow (don't overdo it) some really cute lipgloss... and then u should be good... O and dont 4get the accesorries... make sure u have a matching purse and u have just a lil' bit of jewelry on... that will help u a LOT! and good luck with being preppy!

What other people think doesn't matter. Be kind. Don't smell bad. Dress in what makes you happy. Just because some jackass calls you "ugly" or "dorky" doesn't make it true. Start learning to be yourself and don't worry about being "cool." Everyone has something that makes them special, even the ones who doubt that. Try to find that light in everyone, and your own will shine. No hairstyle or makeup will ever hide an ugly soul. And remember - this is not the rest of your life and it WILL get better.

HaHa You already seem fake to me. Thats the big word for someone who's trying to be someone their not. but face it you want to be different. You only see popular kids like that in movies. and shows... Highs schools are somewhat crazy about fitting in and being popular. Popular kids are fake to. they just want attention . Well not all of them. Hey just kick it with people you have something in common with. and who the heck cares if someone thinks your a dork. Eff Them. Sometimes changing doesnt even work. And News Flash Popular people arent perfect either. Be real.. The best i can say is be more social, and if someone calls you a dork then w/e all they want to do is make you feel bad. Being populars isnt all that. Hey have you ever seen never been kissed. Well you know what rob said. You only need one person to think your cool and youll fit in. All the others wont care.

i recomend being friendly with these people, they all know each other, so they arent looking for friends, so you need to make the effort
second, a cute head band and messy bun is very cute in my opinion, or you coud straighten your hair, which is always cute and simple, and classic, and what is preppy but all of those??

for makeup, wear eyeshadow that makes your eyes pop, and dont do super heavy eyeliner (keep your face clean and fresh looking)

since you already dress preppy, i wont do anything for clothes, but if you dont do this already, pearls are very preppy. the kind that have ribbon on them are really cute.


for stlye icons, try looking towards Reese Witherspoon (not in legally blonde..but you know what i mean).

and, in my opinion, the best scent for a preppy person is the japanese cheery blossom at Bath and body works, or a vanilla scent. yum!

Okay, try polos, ripped jeans/skirts, and like lacy camis with sweaters over the top. You can get them all at Abercrombie, Hollister, and Ralph Lauren.

Those are all preppy things that will not go out of style, and everybody will like.

As far as accessories go, invest in a pearl necklace. They look good with the whole grunge factor of the ripped jeans. They have cheap ones at www.overstock.com

For make up, go for the cleaner look. Light pink lip gloss, mascara, and maybe a LITTLE bit of eye liner. Foundation and consealear also.

Honestly, when you say "I can be anyone I want to be"- I wonder if you really have any idea who you actually ARE. Spend this summer really figuring yourself out- people respect that, rather than trying to imitate someone who is themselves an imitation. Put your focus off popularity- highschool is a blip on the radar of your life, and TRUST ME, you really wont give a crap about some fools who didn't like you once you are out of there. Just don't get in the habit of trying to become something your not, or you'll always be discontented with yourself.

Honey, you need to be yourself! Dress in clothes that you feel comfortable in. Get your hair styled in way that flatters your face. Wear makeup that brings out your best features - have great blue eyes, try browns or purples in eyeshadows to bring em out. Then just be friendly and thoughtful towards your new classmates. And don't think you have to be "preppy" to be cool, because in a few years who you were in high school won't matter any more anyway, trust me.

Well you need a few things: Nice white teeth, clear tanned skin, nice well-kept hair, preppy clothes (from the mall), not TOO much make-up, and lastly, a good attitude. If you have a bad attitude, it won't matter what you look like, you'll be hated anyway.

lol just be u always works. it really does. but hey its ur decision. so here goes. senors and juniors don like the litle kids and stuff trying to act like them. ummm but anyways be yourself. ok clothes check out what theyere wearing . dont exaggerate it. make up. i think that that make up that makes u look natural . when u have like too eye shadow or red red lipstick or too much blush noo. just do ur like natural thing pu t ur lip gloss u should lok great. and since ur going to be stuck with seniors and juniors seriously just be yourself lol. back when i was a freshman i met some of the senoirs at the time that might of been in my class by being just me. seriously i'm really u dont want to hear the "be u speech" but honestly that what u have to do. good luck next year.

i can understand the preppy LOOK just dont get sucked into the attitude. no one likes a hard core prep...especially people in older classes. attitude wise...my only adivce is to be you. be nice, smile, just dont act like your better than your class mates even though youre younger. dont go too heavy on make up,keep it clean. and dont wear skimpy clothing ppl wont think its cute...theyll think its a cry for attention. stick w/ who you are and youll b fine. good luck
