Oh yum! They have the best clam chowder, fresh crab and seafood salad I have ever had. They are mainly open for lunch and is usually a line out the door because there are only at-the-counter seating, but it is worth the wait. Check it out.

Yep, I agree with Fisherman's Wharf. You can't get any fresher seafood. I got married in the bay area and whenever my family would be in the area, we'd always make a point to go to the wharf for the clam chowder in the sourdough bread bowls. I usually end up eating the whole bowl because the bread is so much better there. It has something to do with the water.

Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 for me. The smell is practically intoxicating. The bay air, the fresh seafood, you want to run into every single place and eat something. The clam chowders are heavenly. And in real sourdough breadbowls. Mmmm.

I don't know about the best necessarily, but Fisherman's Wharf has some really good seafood and you have a great view of the bay too.

I live in San Francisco, and there is a place in the Richmond district called the Pacific Cafe. It's not cheap but it's not really expensive either. They open at 5:00 PM every day and you get a table on a first-come first-serve basis and it fills up FAST! So get there on the dot!

For a great oyster bar, Hog Island at the Ferry Building.

Scoma at the wharf. Nothing else compares. And whatever you do, avoid Joe's Crab Shack - it sounds kind of cool and their advertising is good, but its just a low rent Red Lobster.
