Well first of all, If someone rear ends you, it is their fault.
Second, some parts are flat, but I lived in the flint hills (Emporia, Manhattan) Manhattan is really pretty. Yes we do call Soda, Pop. There are McDonald's on the turnpike about every 45 minutes. And yes one of the gate way to hell is found near Lawrence, Kansas. I've been there and if the city finds you in their cemetery you will get a ticket. I think the city's name begin with an S (long time ago I went). It is an old church with no roof. Apparently if you climb the steps up is like one number and down is another number, but I didn't see anysteps (at least that I could get too)
Yea, the Garden of Eden is there too, with a dead guy you can look at if you want. He wanted his body to be on display.

Kansas has a lot of cool, weird places...one I suggest is "The Garden of Eden" in Lucas, Kansas...it's a great way to gain insight into the minds of an early 20th Century radical Populist...who knew that Kansas was once a hotbed of radical leftist politics? It was. Also, I like weird places like the Barbed Wire Museum in Lacrosse, Large Twin Ball in Cawker City, you get the idea...Kansas is not 'flat'. Florida is flat. Oh, and check out the Chalk Pyramids in far western Kansas...amazing.

I guess it depends which part you go to. I've been to wichita and it's a pretty big city and my family lives just outside of the city. It is flat that's for sure. But everything seemed normal compared to where I live in Maryland. I learned that instead of soda they call it pop and it's a no fault state so if someone rear ends you, YOU pay for your own damage! Bogus. lol but other than that they are normal!

What part of KS are you visiting?
I live in Overland Park, which is about 20 minutes south of Kansas City. It is the 6th best metro area to live in in the whole country.
It is a medium sized suburb, area-wise, packed with people who make pretty decent $$.
Why are you visiting KS? We are right on the border between KS and Missouri, so there are a lot of things to see.
There is nothing weird about KS, really...no strange traditions.
Just a typical midwestern town.

I lived in Kansas for a couple of years. Kansas city is just like any other midwestern cities. Flat and boring. But it's got pretty good jazz bars there.
But why?

September and October are Indian Summer so that you would wish to convey shorts, and t-shirts, however convey a couple of denims and lengthy sleeved blouse if you come on a bloodless day. Bring a mixture of the 2.
