As long as the exhaust is clear during acceleration and you aren't adding oil or water all the time, that sounds like a good deal. Of course, for $2k, it's hard to beat even if you need to do some repairs soon.

The fact that it has the LT1 engine doesn't mean much at that odometer reading. You have LOTS of wear on that engine, especially since it was formerly a cop car, which means it spent endless hours idling and not tallying up miles. I'd avoid it completely, especially for the price he's asking.

No way. I'm sure you can find one with less miles. Especially 230,000 miles on a cop car. Haven't you ever watched Cops?

230,000 miles? Thats kind of steep, and cop cars get hard use, so ur friend will be luck to get much of anything for it.

LT1s can have issues, esp. with 230K miles. $500 to $700 at best. Good luck.

Edmunds.com says the Private Party value of that car with that mileage is only about $493. $2000 is way too much

200 dollars, maybe! That it way too expensive with 230,000 miles on it! Maybe $1000 or less.

I wouldn't pay no more than $1200-$1500 for it. A lot could be wrong with this heap that is not immediately evident. When you buy it, it is YOURS.
