I know it's hard to feel good about yourself when you have so many self-doubts and then on top of that your sister is making you feel like you're not up to her standards. Just remember this: the only reason that she's trying to make you feel bad is because she's probably not all that confident in her abilities and talents either. The only thing you can do is turn to your own friends who think you're wonderful. I understand how you feel. I think we all go through times when we get down on ourselves and think that we're stupid, un-cute, and just in general that no one would want to be around us. This is a very normal thing, so don't get more down on yourself for feeling this way. Hang in there--with time you'll become more and more confident in who and what you are!

That's what sisters are for!!! My guess is if I saw you I would say you look more "distinguished". Take life slow little one, don't be in a rush to grow up. Self-confidence and attitude are what people will see, not your glasses. Chill out with some friends (remember that at some point in most people's life they either have to endur glasses or braces or other things they can't handle looking in the mirror at, when in all actuality, others don't even notice those things about people, but the do notice attitude). I don't know exactly how old you are, but I would guarantee that if you did some community service (like at a food line or nursing home or something) those people would see you as a wonderful angel (which I bet your are!)

You just have to forget about what ppl think. I bet you look really pretty in your glasses, and your sister's just trying to be mean. I had glasses for a few years, and then I got contacts. I thought I looked nerdy in my glasses too, but I ended up getting compliments. Maybe you should talk to your sister, or mom, and tell them that you feel bad, and about your self esteem problems. Just keep your chin up, and be the best person you can!

The greatest scientists of all time were wearing glasses starting from Albert Einestein until now. On the other hand, many fools in this world don't wear glasses. Thus, wearing or not wearing glasses don't determine who you are, but your good personality and your kind heart determine who you really are, and I am sure that you have such a kind heart and a good sensetive personality, and this is fully enough to make everything you wear adds nothing to you but more beauty.

Self-esteem is what you make it. If you surround yourself with useless, antagonizing people, you are bound to feel poorly about yourself. Glasses are no big deal. If your sister is being a pain, consider the source. Maybe she's the nerd and is just trying to cover that up by picking on you! :-p Ignore it. You're as beautiful as you allow yourself to feel. Good luck!

honey only u can be who u are don't let anyone tell u different. U are beautiful no matter what....... u sister is dealing with the "trying to fit in" disease that I still to this day don't understand becuz the ppl that u try 2 fit in with now are not going to be here forever just until u can't fall into place with them in their line of popularity. My thing is be who u r and if u like the glasses that is all that matters becuz u gotta wear them they don't. And hey! sum one else might like them 2 they just might be 2 shy to speak on it. Or they might tell u that they like them who knows!!!!! Just be ur self.

Everyone has something they don't like about theirself... don't sweat the small stuff, girl!! If you're THAT concerned about looking "nerdy" in your glasses (which I'm sure you look just fine.. you just hafta get used to them first), you could do some research online and find out the pro's vs. con's about contacts... then try to save up enough money to buy them yourself... then show your mom all the pro's you found, and tell her you have enough money saved up to buy them yourself. Make sure you let her know how you feel.

Get involved in some activities, so you will not be so focused on your looks. Plus, what's wrong with looking like a nerd. I've seen some really cool and attractive nerds.

it doesn't matter what you wear or don't wear, the key is confidence in everything you do! even if your not feeling confident, don't let on! By the way, I wear glasses too & most guys actually think its kinda sexy to be with a girl who wears glasses. Kind of like the sexy librarian thing, ya know , take your glasses off & let your hair down and WOW!!!!

I think glasses looks hot on anyone! They make you look smart too for some reason! As long as your confident in yourself than it doesnt matter what others say or think! Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way! If you think otherwise, then so will others!
