Good question. A lot of college professors are liberal and consider themselves intellectual elites but really have never worked in the real world.

Sorry to disappoint. I do not consider myself intellectually superior to everyone else. I haven't watched Jon Stewart in almost a year and we don't get the comedy channel. I am, however, a well-educated liberal who gets most of my "talking points" from newspapers, CNN, Newsweek, Time, NPR, and yes - Fox News also. I like to look at all sides of an issue before I commit to a position. I love a good discussion with a well-informed conservative that can discuss issues without hurling insults and generalizing about people.

In other countries, the liberals are known as the "progressive" party...that should tell you something.
Also, studies have shown that most people who watch Jon Stewart's show are college educated--not just a bunch of rednecks. Sure, he's a smart ***, but he is smart, he is funny, and he does shed light on some ridiculous things in our government--both parties. And yes, I am college educated, working on my Masters.
Most college campuses and big, high class cities (Boston, LA, etc.) are blue areas...that should tell ya something, too.
I had a conservative friend tell me that because I was a "bleeding heart liberal" I thought with my head AND my heart (he said this with a certain degree of disdain). Foolish me! I thought that was a good thing--a morally superior AND intellectually sound decision? Plus one that's most likely good for society (not just the wealthy elite).
I know I sound pretentious, but ha, when you're right you're right! ;) jk
That's the beauty of America! We're free to be opinionated and talk things out until we get to, hopefully, whatever the best decision is.
Oh, and I vote independent. I've voted for people of all parties--literally. Whoever makes the most sense to me, I vote for, but I have to admit I'm a "raging liberal." Your welcome.

See, we did not call Obama a terrorist, We referred to as Osama a terrorist. you fairly want to study it thoroughly before you launch into yet another hairbrained rant. I we were going to call Obama some thing it would want to probably be Empty journey. that's no secret that the Democrats hate President Bush better than they love u.s. because the jackass celebration is going out of that's thanks to educate it on a regularly happening foundation. look on the recent from that shining beacon of corruption you call the Senate Majority chief. Now grimy Harry helps a time reduce for troop withdrawl dreamed up by that military genius Russell Feingold. He must have taken that gem good out of the Democratic guidance guide. What a magnificent conflict attitude; "enable's basically tell the enemy when we are able to minimize & run". I extraordinarily like the section the position the bill says that we are able to in ordinary words take action agains't al-qaeda. "whats up Sarge, they are shootin' at me." "nicely, do not shoot again except you could educate that they are al-qaeda or we are going to all get courtroom marshalled." The shortest e book contained in the international; "efficient Democrat military Stratigists".

I tend to think that many liberals are very smart creative people but they tend to get in groups and pat themselves on the back by saying how correct they are to preserve their own feelings. This produces a kind of superiority complex because they have been told how smart they are by their peers. This is why when they say something they say it with 100% self-rightousness.

Jon Stewart is entertainment. very good entertainment that happens to be right on the nail.
Hmm, an intelligent, witty host who has a degree in Phychology and political science. Not bad.
And on the other side we have a failed sportscaster turned political blowhard. Not sure I'd be too proud of that distinction.

Jon Stewart rips into liberals as well. If you ask me, I think it's the conservatives who consider liberals the intellectual elite. There are many in red America who look down on book learnin'. That's why people like Bush dumb down their persona while running for office.

Not at all true. I get most of MY talking points from Voltaire, Spinoza, Neitzche, Bearce and Kerouac.
Seeing the intellectual DIShonesty of the "reactionary" as you exemplified, I think a good human "liberal" deserves some credit for rising above your hatreds.
What's a "comedy channel"?
