AS I understand it there are 3 main ways to generate fractals;Escape-time fractals, Iterated function systems and Random fractals. None of these forms use infinite lines.

Your question is really about the definition of a line in mathematics, and in geometry in particular. Roughly speaking, it's the set of points which differ from a specific single point in only one spatial dimension. Non-Euclidean geometry can complicate it a bit more.

Any two lines which share more than one point are identical, and share all points. Lines sharing exactly one point are said to intersect. All lines are similar in that they have the same general properties and the same number of points (infinite).
