I just bought a pair of leather sandals today and want to know some fashion rules for it. I already know socks is a big no no with sandals. And you must keep your toe nails trimmed and clean. That is just basic common sense.

Can I wear pants with sandals, or must I wear shorts. I have seen a lot of other men wearing sandals, and some don't look that good, but others look okay.

I normally wear leather black combat boots, which are really hot in the summer especially with socks.

I'm wearing sandals for comfort, I could care less what anyone thinks of me, as long as I don't come off as a complete slob.

While some people on here, don't think men and sandals go together, what about the Romans, or any other ancient culture.
I work a messenger job in NYC, so I'm not doing hard manual labor.

Of course it is ok for guys to wear sandals, and like you said, wearing socks with it is usually a no-no. If you like you could wear cargo pants, they are the ones where you can unzip at the knees or the thighs..there are many different styles of cargo pants. I personally like the cargos with sandals, they look really hot. You can wear them full length when it is cooler weather (like evenings) and you can adjust them to the time of day when it is too warm or cold. The kind of sandals I like is the roman style or the fisherman style, either of them is very nice looking, and the sport kind is also nice too.

If you are going to be wearing pants with your sandals, make sure that the pants are pretty loose around the ankles, but in most cases its better to wear shorts. When you wear the sandals, make sure to pick out an awesome hot outfit above such as caki shorts and then a cool shirt... this way if the sandals suck at least u will still look hot...

Of course it is ok for men to wear sandals! I see guys wearing sandals and flip-flops all the time and they look just fine. I would suggest wearing a nice pair of shorts with your new sandals but it is definitely ok to wear pants if you want to. It all depends on what you like.

Should be ok with casual trousers- i.e combats and maybe jeans though I prefer long shorts with sandals on guys.
You have the rules pretty much summed up, hygiene and no socks. I like Leather sandals better than the rubber flip flop ones on men.

My fiance refuses to wear any kind of sandal, he thinks it's very gay for men to be wearing sandals.

I, on the other hand, like the look! You can wear them with pants or shorts. They go with anything. Just don't get the ones that cover the whole toe area. Eww.

You get detrimental vibes as a results of fact socks with sandals seems very undesirable. I consider the female above that asserts that wearing socks with sandals defeats the purpose of sandals. in case you opt for to conceal your feet then placed on shoes!

Absolutely no reason why men shouldn't wear sandals.

However, that depends on the occassion.
If you are at work (during summer), I would suggest sneakers.

Sandals should be worn at your own time when you are not at work and or just lounging around the neigborhood or spending your own leisure time at the mall or cafe.

It would not have been of good manners to wear sandal at work or when you are at a proper sitdown restaurant, for example.

I think short would be better. Not the kind of tight shorts though. Something a little baggy and just above the knee.or slightly higher. Get a nce t-shirt what hugs your body but not too long just ends where your shorts started. I bet you'll look good . Good luck.
