i wanted to be...
i wanted to be a puppy
playful as i was
and hugable as i seemed
she wouldn't even look at me
i wanted to be the sun
i wanted to warm her
but she refused
she wouldn't accept it
waiting instead for the sun to set
i wanted to be her neighbor
thinking it was a way to get closer
when i did, she moved and well...
well now i'm here all alone
waiting for the moment when she'll return

Personally I like it but what you have to understand is that poetry comes from the soul and it shouldn't make any difference whether anyone else likes it or not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and your poetry is just a way of expressing yours.

Very well written. Sounds like a lot of relationships, or someone hoping for a relationship with that one person they just cannot seem to get. Someone shows all the qualities they have to offer, and they still get shot down. I think almost everyone could relate to this poem...very nice! :)

I am guessing it is about someone trying to get closer to teh one they love but the person doesn't really like them back. I thought it was good!
