Half of them don't understand the fundamentals of basketball, only hype (as one here admitted). The other half are mad because the Spurs beat their teams and they aren't mature enough to admit that their teams simply lost.

I'm definitely a Cavs fan but I don't dislike the Spurs or any other team. I like to give props where props are due. The Spurs are a very GOOD TEAM and no one can take that away from them. No team gives a win to the other. As with any game, they are all in my opinion a game of chance. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. There is always that chance that the better team can loose as well as the not so experienced team. whether the Cavs win this championship or not I will still be proud of them because those young men have taken the Cavaliers where no Cav has gone before. So GO CAVS go Spurs. May the best team win.

I think there are a couple of reasons:
1) The Spurs are the luckiest franchise in the last 20 years. They won the David Robinson lottery in 1987. When Robinson joined the team after his Navy duty, the Spurs have made the playoffs every year except 1997. And in 1997 they won the lottery to draft Tim Duncan.
To win the lottery twice is difficult... To win the lottery twice when there's a bonafide can't miss franchise player available, nearly impossible unless you're the Spurs. Look at the Clippers and Warriors- they win the lottery and get to choose Michael Olowokandi and Joe Smith...
It's nearly as bad as the Yankees spending $200 million in salary to buy championship rings.
2) The team doesn't have a colorful personalty or a pleasing playing style. Tim Duncan is a really nice, but lacks a colorful personality. Manu Ginobili is more known for his flopping more than his exciting talent. We like to see Eva Longoria more than Tony Parker. Last and maybe worse, Gregg Popovich is Mr. "Don't Bother to Interview Me". I know coaches don't like the media, but at least they give some interesting insight or quotes. Popovich looks like he wants to jump out of the window during interviews. It's a vanilla "we talk only about basketball" team.
I think fans like to talk more about a team than just how fundamentally well they play on the court.
3) The Steve Nash bump was dirty. I don't think Horry meant to bump Nash that hard, and get Stoudamire and Diaw suspended. But it seems to make this year's championship run less sweet because they didn't play the Suns at full strength. I believe people have something against that play.
4) When you're considered a dynasty, we always want to see the underdog beat the favorite. Americans love underdogs!

People say the Spurs are not fun to watch! I say that is not true! The Spurs are alot of fun when they are playing the right team. If they can beat a team playing text book basketball they will do it and its just business. That makes the game not fun to watch in my opinion. Of course any win is fun for me because I am a huge Spurs fan. In game three I thought the Cavs played their best first half of the series and the Spurs played horrible and we were still up by two. This type of series that is so one sided isn’t ever fun to watch. And when your team has had such a great run over the last decade you tend to make enemies for lack of a better word.

Because they dont play the most exciting of games, another words they dont have the flashy, in you face, Give me the ball so i can score 30 points a game type of players. They are more about the team and fundamentals and defense rather than offense. and lets face it, most people are more casual fans and dont appreciate defensive efforts with sound offense. They want to see the dunks and flashy plays, and youre just not going to get that from the spurs. Also Tim duncan has that same lazy dog look that pete sampras use to have. ITs like an emotionless, Im tired and not excited kindof look. And i guess people equate that to he is boring and lazy attitude, even though its just the way he looks and has nothing to do with his play. Even though I think duncan is the best player in the NBA and Spurs are the model franchise.

Frustration over their team not winning and a perceived lack of fairness over the Suspensions of Amare and Diaw. It was fair, letter of the law, but it was a sucky thing to happen. A lot of those fans are bitter and lash out against the Spurs when they should be blaming not JUST Stern, which they do, but D'Antoni as well for his GM job that he did...brought in Marcus Banks and Jalen Rose to sit the bench? The Suns are paying Diaw $9 million next year after he blew chunks this season? Hopefully Kerr can salvage something and keep them a competitive team instead of trading Sean and having to somewhat start over. This was indeed the Suns best shot at a championship, and the fans know it and that things could get tumultuous in the off season.

I don't think people hate on the Spurs, they're too boring for that. As far as I can see everyone gives them their props for being a solid team.
I think what you are calling hating, which is truly reserved for the Lakers (cause there is no team who is hated on more), is really just peoples honest observation that they are not an exciting team to watch. I mean did you see the ratings, more people watched America's got talent than the last game.
Just face it your team is good and will probably win another championship this decade, but no one outside of San Antonio will be watching it unless the other team is worthy.

Two Main Reasons:
1. Bruce Bowen is an extremely dirty player. If you do not believe me, look him up on youtube. If he didn't have happy feet, he would never be able stop anyone from scoring.
2. Tim Duncan's eyes get bigger than dinner plates every time a foul gets called on him even though most of the fouls are obviously the correct call.
In other words, their not the perfect, wholesome team that the NBA props them up as being and a lot of people are smart enough to recognize that.

You see so called basketball fans want to see razzle dazzle. Razzel dazzle is good for the globetrooters but not beat the Spurs. The Spurs defense wont allow that.

They have the worst fans. They didn't sell out all of the playoffs. They also need their players to play well to get loud, everywhere else does the opposite. Also Manu is Vlade Divic in a shorter body he flops and cries every ten seconds.
