I am just curious how often people actually read books. I tend to spend most of my time on the internet reading news... Yahoo Answers... etc. I have just recently made myself start reading novels again because I think it is a horrible thing to give up. I was wondering how many books everyone reads a month. I read at night before I go to bed because it does put me to sleep... but I also read whenever I am bored... I don't really watch TV at all. Anyways... just curious.

I'm a big reader, I love to curl up with a book on the porch. I read my news on the internet because I can get info faster than waiting for a newspaper, but I looooove books. Currently reading John Connelly, spooky stuff!

I read everyday.
If I find a book I can't put down, it is with me all day long and I read at every little minute that is free. I can finish in a few days. Other then that rarity, I force myself to read at least a page of a book that has short chapters.
If I can keep my eyes open, I read before I go to sleep.
On average I read 6 books a year from cover to cover. most of the time I cannot finish a book because of loss of interest.
I am always studying something of interest to me and reading up on that subject. Right now I am studying how to build a structure.( I am adding a room on to my home)

I am 20 years old - and I have probably only read about 6 books my entire life for pleasure - i always try to get myself to read more - but it just doesnt work - i would much rather watch a movie or do something else rather than just read (i dont find reading very compelling) - i feel like its too time consuming
I dont want to say its a waste of time - but thats kind of how i feel.

I pretty much am the same as you. I read at least one book a week depending on the book.. sometimes they take two if they are over 350 pages. I believe knowledge is power so people should pick up books and turn off the TV!!

Actually, I really like to read. It does put me to sleep (not cuz its boring or anything) and I think it would be a horrible thing to give up. I just sometimes have a hard time finding anything really worth my time. There are truly some BAD books out there...

I read 2-6 books a month, depending on what my schedule is like. I'm currently reading Memoirs of a Geisha. I saw the movie and enjoyed it, so I figured the novel would be even better!

I read a book everyday.
Not the whole thing of course..but everyday I read some until I finish it..then I start another one usually.
I rarely watch tv too.
Only when there's a particular show I like..then I will.
Other than that the only time I watch tv is right before I go to sleep.

I read every night, I'm not the kinda girl you'd see reading a book, but I do read i think its so intresting it opens up a new world to me, I love Jodi Picoult books there great, but some can be emotional especially 'Keeping Faith' I also read when sunbathing on holiday even more, you alwyas see people with their big fat books out, it's very educational too!!
