Making illegals citizens would be extremely unfair to people who came here legally and went through the long process. My family came here in the 70s and it took them forever, cost them lots of money, and caused much frustration before they finally became citizens. It's just not fair.

Comparing the illegals that are swarming over our boarder with colonists coming to a largely unpopulated land is just foolish and a false argument.

The fact is, we have laws on the books, with established steps one must take to come here legally. By allowing the countless illegals to stay here is really a slap to the face of everyone that did it legally!

Illegals are draging our country down, taking jobs that legal Americans WANT, and driving down our wages. Not to mention the strain they put on our health and education systems. Wonder where school funds have gone? Look no further then the new Spanish section and the interpretors needed in schools today. Or did you think those things were free?

The fact is, Illegals need to go back to where they came from and get in line like everyone else. What other country on the face of the earth allows people to come in, illegally, and not send them back? None. In fact, Mexico has one of the strictest boarder policies in the world, going as far as shooting people trying to cross.

How convenient for Matt C his ancestors came here who knows how many years ago and were involve din one of the biggest land grabs in the history of the planet next to the Australians and the New Zealander's and Canadians.

How convenient that once he and his kind have what they want, they close the door on others who are seeking to better themselves.

What goes around comes around, in the next 100 years Hispanic will be the first language in the Americas get used to it.

Well, not all of them. Only the ones that don't want to act like people from the U.S. and the ones who don't even try to become citizens. Also, the ones who pay taxes. I'm Hispanic and I think some should go back and some shouldn't. Depending on what I just said.

There's a legal process to become a citizen. Everyone should follow that process. Period. Illegal aliens from ANY country should be asked to leave, and not to return unless proper documentation is provided.

America should put illegals back where they came from, taking forced labor from them only long enough to pay their expenses (transportation, general crime perpetrated by their ilk, etc.) That's our business.
Now on to a "separate" issue. If you were in Hosea's shoes, would you fly (uh, swim, I mean) to promising shores.
I want US to begin to uphold her borders. THAT'S OUR BUSINESS! I hold this position, while not particularly resenting an individual whose only criminal act is breaching a border that is ambiguous as to whether it wants to be breached. I suppose the vast majority of these illegals want to work hard for a better life, and are not (otherwise) criminals. Call me what you will, that's my true opinion.

No, it certainly isn't. This is one of my big beefs with the pro illegals. Thank your family for doing it the right way. Most Americans truly appreciate the fact that they thought enough of this country, themselves and future generations of great Americans to do it the right way,.

Yes but it isn't going to happen. In some cases they are actually needed like fruit & veg. pickers but thats about it. The other so called jobs that americans wont do like maids, builders, gardeners, please give me a break. You want to work here come legaly like everyone else pay the fees & pay taxes don't expect to get it all for nothing.

I would love to see a proposition on here to actually take care of this, combined with a budget.

Absolutely! The sooner the better. Our govt. needs to get off it's collective butt, quit playing politics, and start enforcing the laws they created!
