You can't ever forget about him. You don't forget about your first job, your friends from high school, your best vacation, your worst vacation, your first kiss and first boyfriend, your first car, etc. Why would someone think they can forget about the person they were in love with, lived with, and fell apart with? It can't be done. You can't forget, all you can do is to manage the memories.
In a lot of ways divorce is like a death, it is a death. You don't forget the person who died, but after a time of grieving you learn to deal with the memories.

It's been 7 years now, it gets easier and better with time, I am over him completely and am living life and enjoying it, I started feeling like my old self about 3 years later, I am not saying it's the same with everyone, it just depends how acrimonious the divorce was!!

Well, time will help, but immediate relief comes when you are with someone else, even know it probably isn't the first thing on you mind right now.
