I was flipping through the channels last night and I saw it, so I turned it out and was sickened by what I saw. How can anyone watch such filth. How can I get my mind off the trash that I saw, I don't even want to think about the program I saw last night.

What did you see on the show?
I think people like Springer because it helps the viewer to feel self-confident, however momentarily and nominally.
The people on Springer talk about the worst dimensions of their lives. A person can watch and say, "I don't have that problem!," which translates easily to, "My life is better than that person's."
It is easier to feel superior to a lot of the people because they act so dramatically on TV. Many do not seem reasonable. They also use stigmatized accents.
Finally, there's something pleasurable and addictive about the tension of the show. Look at what you expressed: You can't get your mind off it!

lol this question is too funny. You know when I was in college (very young and immature) I used to love that show, it used to be the highlight of our little day. Now I can't stand that nonsense. I happened to be flippin through one day as well and couldn't believe that I actually used to enjoy that crap. It was such indescribable mindless garbage. How it has remained on the air all of these years is beyond me. There must be very immature or just low life people still supporting it.

but notice how you left it on springer. it is the equivalent of watching a car crash. there is pain, suffering, yet when you pass it, you can't help but keep watching even though you know nothing good can come from it. i used to watch the show several years ago. wouldn't particularly say i 'enjoyed' it, but it held my interest. then it started getting old, and more objectionable. now i don't know how in the heck i used to watch. when i stopped altogether was when springer would have the audience address the guests. when that turned to ten minutes of 'i want my beads' that was the end. it was just for dumb bimbos to show their non existent hoots. the show needs to end

i guess it would want to remember upon who replaced into on Jerry, if it replaced right into a bunch of redneck conservatives being made to look the fool that they'd probably celebrate with it, yet when it replaced right into a liberal minority being made to look the fool, the educate might want to be racist and therefore no longer relaxing.

Simple , it was discussed once before , that the show half the time is fake . Who would want to watch it .
It certainly is trash .
He was good though on "DANCING WITH THE STARS '

Yeah. its really dumb..it looks so.. rehearsed, i swear i've seen the same guests over and over again, but their just wearing wings and costumes.... anyways i think the only thing i enjoy watching are the "confrontations" and "fights"

i use to like to watch it,but now it is horrible and Jerry does not look like he would have a show like that.

i first i can honestly liked to watch it..it was funny and entertaining..now it is old and trashy...but people like to watch these shows so their own life and problems dont seem quite so bad..
