because the questions are easy to answer - and they are usually more fun -
to me its a lot better than answering a question like "My boyfiend cheated on me! what do i do!?"

It's kind of a combo effect
-Random wacky questions
-Some are good quality questions
-Interesting and creative answers
-Doesn't take much thought to answer them

Because it is fun to give one's opinion and someone else cannot say I am wrong. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, right? In other places, people argue with your answer. You can't aruge with my OPINION.
