first off i am a huge yanks fan and have been all my life

and so i am used to seein the yanks in the playoffs

so yes, yanks fans have been spoiled by constant playoff appearances but havnt won the W.S. since 2000

theyve made the playoffs every year, only to lose out. 2001 and 2003 in the W.S., 2004 in the ALCS, and 2002, 2005, 2006 in the ALDS

so if the yanks make the playoffs this year (and there is a chance they may not) how far will they go????

As far as their pitching will take them. Yanks have had a problem with pitching the past few years. They need young starters and Rivera, well I'm sorry he's just not as dominating as he used to be. They need young pitchers. Petite clemmens mussina may may get tehm over the hump this year, but after that? They are stil solid up the middle catcher, second, short, center field who can top them (a baseball funbdemental). Their line up, well it's an all-star team. So whats missing consistent young starting pitching. But yeah they'll be exciting this year. Besides how could you pass up the opportunity to watch Derek Jeter play a4rguably the best all around just palin ball player palying right now. When you consider fielding base running (never seen him lapse) and the fact that you can bat him anywhere in the line-up. has power when necessary and a base hit when you need it. Who is better as an all around ball player. And who do you want up in a clustch situation ... AROD ... please. Jeter will get it done. Never seen anyone like him. He alone makes the yanks exciting, plus you get to watch history with 44 year old clemmens out there. Nobody plays for ever you have to enjoy them while you can.

i have continuously had a issue with this line of questioning between followers. the game isn't about persons, it is a crew sport. the straightforward reality is that protection wins championships, so it is not any longer ironic that 4 of the 5 best protecting communities ended up interior the NBA very last 4. i'm also wondered the way you equate excitment with scoring. Key blocked pictures and steals are in basic terms as exciting if no longer moreso. If scoring were the in elementary words element human beings wanted from the game...'And One' will be a lot extra wide-spread than it is. rather it is a gaggle of singularly gifted scorers that would't get into the NBA. i imagine a real fan of the game would proceed watching the playoffs, at the same time as human beings wanting in elementary words eye-sweet does no longer.

Any team that makes the playoffs can win, because you're talking about short series. I think that last year's Cardinals or the 2003 Marlins are strong proof of that.

The better team doesn't always win in the MLB playoffs, so the Yankees would have a decent shot if they get that far.

Yes they r. Coming from a Yankee fan, with experiences with Yankee haters, the best thing 4 a yankee fan is winning the World Series, and the best thing 4 Yankee haters is them losing in the playoffs, so yes the Yankees r worth the excitement.

Probably not. They're overpriced and over-the-hill mercenaries with little to no personality. The mine-as-well all be wearing pin-stripe suits out on that field.

As for how far they'll make it in the playoffs, I'd be surprised if they made it past the first round.

Yes they are. Far too much pride and talent on that team to accept anything less.
