I'm hoping I'm pregnant with my first child and I'm starting to think that me hoping so much is having me believe that I'm having some early pregnancy symptoms. My period should be here around next the 20th or so. To start with I've had abdominal discomfort continuously all week (not painful, just a different feeling) and now I just feel something in the region under my navel. I also think my breasts feel harder than usual although they are not very sore. I'm also exhausted, have been having some headaches and sometimes feel slightly lightheaded/nausea. Could these be early pregnancy symptoms or is my hope and feeling taking over?

I agree with the other answers - when your TTC everything seems like a pregnancy symptom.

If you aren't pregnant in this cycle, try the basal body temperature method. that's where you chart your temperatures every single day. If you follow the method, you will see a pattern - your temperatures will dip when you ovulate, and then go up, up, up until either you know you're pregnant (19 high temps in a row) or you get your AF.

When I was TTC my first, every single month I would drive myself crazy with looking for pregnancy symptoms. Finally, i started charting, I had more knowledge with my cycle, and when I did get pregnant, I knew I was pregnant long before any symptoms.

And just an FYI - with my first pregnancy I didn't notice any real symptoms (in fact there was a delay in what I would normally call early pregnancy symptoms, because my own PMS symptoms completely mirror early pregnancy symptoms. And without having PMS, I didn't get the sore breasts, etc symptoms until probably around 5-6 weeks along). With my 2nd pregnancy, it was more of a surprise (I wasn't charting) but I was waking up in the middle of the night to pee and I was crying at all the sappy TV commercials. Those were my only early symptoms until the 5-6 week mark.

Good luck!!

Everyone experiences pregnancy differently. Sometimes the stress over wondering if you are or aren't bring on symptoms similar to pregnancy symptoms. To be honest for most women the first symptoms of pregnancy are few and far between. For me it was cramping (kept thinking I was about to get period), two dizzy spells and of course the big obvious one of lack of period. Wait a few days after the 20'th to test. You wont feel any movement till 2'nd trimester. However you may be feeling gassy which is a pregnancy symptom. Good luck

They sound like promising symptoms. I just got my BFP this morning and I've kind of known for about a week now. I have been queasy since I ovulated, I've had horrible headaches for a week or so, I had 3 days of cramping earlier this week and AF was due for me today but instead I got a nice pink line. A mother's intuition is always best, but I can tell you that I have had symptoms and felt like I was and turned out that I wasn't. You best bet is to wait and see if she shows up around the 20th and then test if she's not here.

Good luck!

Could be, also you could be getting a little too excited too soon. I am 6 weeks pregnant before I found out I really didn't have too many symptoms, I was a little light headed and that was really it. Right before my period was due I had some cramping that felt similar to menstral cramps, but I never started. Those cramps lasted until a couple days ago, so about 2 weeks. Best of luck!
